Prielau castle is surrounded by a big park, which extends it’s natural meadows down to the lake. Nestled behind fir and birch trees are the pond for fish farming and next to it the pen for the deer. Only the tower of a distant church surpass the towers of the castle.

The Restaurant Mayer's at Schloss Prielau is one of Austria's top ten restaurants and was awarded 2 stars by Guide Michelin and many other honours. Chef Andreas Meyer's style is inspired by traditional French cuisine, using strong aromas and creating new versions of traditional dishes. There is an excellent wine list with more than 400 wines.
