Ekala is a Guest House in the countryside, 30 minutes from Johannesburg. With spectacular views of the countryside creating a relaxed & casual ambiance with tranquility and security away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Tours are on offer daily to all South African tourist destinations. Small tour groups are preferred as this makes it more personal. Guests have a choice of 10 well-appointed en-suite bedrooms all with views of the surrounding countryside. Meals can be enjoyed in the dinning area, out on the terraces or in the large surrounding gardens. Enjoy a hearty breakfast, spend the rest of the day relaxing in the peaceful surroundings, at the pool or experience any of the tours on offer. Enjoy a cocktail while watching a dramatic African sunset before tucking into a traditional dinner or braai.

Your safety is of utmost importance to us. Ekala will accompany you all the way. From arrival to departure, including all tours and even shopping if required.

Ekala prides itself on being environmentally friendly. We run a completely organic sheep flock, have two resident bat colonies, numerous meercats (slender mongoose), frogs, owls and an abundance of guinea fowl that sleep in the trees surrounding the Guest House. Most of the vegetables served at Ekala are grown organically on site.

For non-arrival or premature departure 100% of the total accommodation fee is payable. Cancellation cost is calculated from the day prior to arrival date and is based on deposit paid:
Within 7 days 100% of deposit
Within 14 days 75% of deposit
Within 21 days 50% of deposit
Within 28 days 25% of deposit
If Payment has been made via a Credit Card, any refund can only be made against the same Credit Card. Any refund would have the amount of Commission and Service Fee paid for the transaction, deducted. Cancelation notification must be received by Ekala in writing.

Easy access to all highways and Johannesburg Tourism spots. The Johannesburg Guest House is set on 25 acres of sweeping lawns, water features and numerous large trees including a 200 tree orchard. Our landscaped gardens feature a great variety of flora and fauna where also an abundance of bird species may be found. The farm is completely organically run with a flock of 100 sheep and most of the vegetables served to guests being grown on the farm.
