Description:
The stylishly renovated Edouard VII Hotel is a family-run gem that bubbles with history and oozes Parisian charm. As the only hotel on the impressive Avenue de l'Opera, its excellent location lends itself equally well to sightseeing as to business. A multitude of tourist attractions and companies are located in the vicinity and access to public transport is also just a few steps from the front door (including direct access to Disneyland Paris). Each room (several with parquet floors), with its breathtaking view from the balcony, is luxuriously decorated with traditional French fabrics and provides all modern amenities (soundproofing, king-sized beds, cable-TV, a mini-bar, safety deposit box, direct dial telephone, ADSL and air-conditioning. and Fitness centre in April 2007).Facilities in the hotel also include the Angl'Opera restaurant, bar, coffee lounge, a meeting room and an internet room. Ideal for all travellers: individuals, families, business and groups. As for its restaurant, Angl'Opera, top French chef, Gilles Choukroun - Michelin-starred in Chartres and renowned for the avant-garde haute cuisine of his Left Bank institution, 'Le Cafe des Delices' - brought his gastronomic genius to the Edouard 7 Hotel in its plush dining room designed by the architect F. Foucaut. Gilles' culinary trademark is one of blending, marrying and uniting flavours in ways quite unlike anywhere else found on Paris' food circuit. His eclectic, iconoclastic approach to cooking has earned him his reputation as food-guru extraordinaire; and even as he strays away from more traditional dishes (although Grandma's favourites such as 'hachis parmentier' are always available), his food remains distinguishably French and reassuringly refined. Some would call his cooking 'new wave' others a 'taste explosion' but whatever the definition chosen, where else would you begin with a broth of herbs, ginger, soft egg and foie gras, follow it with steamed ray, poppy seeds, citrus fruits and fennel, and finish everything off with a mouth-watering bazaar of litchis poached in Schweppes, green papaya and verbena?

We booked a deluxe room for our weekend in Paris, and it was worth it. Excellent size with balcony and views over the Opéra. The staff were excellent throughout, and made a great restaurant recommendation when we arrived late and hungry on Friday night - the Grand Café des Capucins. All in all, a fantastic weekend in a great and prestigious location. Worth every penny. We didn't breakfast at the hotel, at 23 Euros a head. There's a great café just over the road!

caro ma soprattutto troppo rumoroso per un albergo 4 stelle !

Excellent choice of hotel in an ideal location. Property is maintained to a high standard and staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast was not included in price and would cost €23 each per day. We did not avail of this as there are many lovely cafés nearby at more reasonable rates. This adds to the Paris experience! The Roissybus from C de G Airport stops at The Opera ( only a few minutes walk) and collects you again for return and is a lot cheaper than getting Taxis. A tour of The Opera is very worthwhile when you are here. This hotel may be more expensive than some other ones in Paris but you can travel with an easy mind. I would highly recommend.

Stunning room and location. The staff went above and beyond the call of duty to assist. I had a medical problem whilst there and had received a letter written in French, one of the staff willingly translated it for me and would not accept payment for her time - thank you. I would stay there again.

Good Location. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Room size was not bad by European standards. Prices are a little high. Be careful of buffet, had orange juice and coffee for two people at 23 euros per person.

It's a lovely hotel, we stayed on the 6th floor and in the morning we heard banging from construction close by. I loved the bathroom. It is nice and roomy. Watch your bill, I paid for breakfast for two days, we only had breakfast for one day but got charged for two days. Question your bill before you pay. I could have saved 23.00 euros. Overall, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

This is a pleasant and superbly located hotel with competent, friendly and well trained staff. Plenty of English speakers as well. Our only criticism was that we were put in two rooms on the top floor. Because the roof curves at that point the windows were smaller than elsewhere, giving an impression of a small and dark room. In fact the rooms were of a good size and well kitted out. Even better, the air conditioning worked well. Anywhere in Paris can be noisy and this was no exception. Overall I would recommend this hotel highly and this is from someone with a hotel background who knows Paris hotels well.

What a find! Unbeatable location, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful decor - the whole caboodle. Rarely have we enjoyed staying in a Paris hotel as much as we enjoyed staying here. The hotel's restaurant, Angl'Opera, was also wonderful with delicious, creative French cuisine. The Edouard VII is an absolute must when visiting this city
