| The room was nice. Clean and quite at night, but in the morning the cleaning lady were so noisy and impolite. They tried to enter my room at 08.30 without knocking first.
The breakfast were good although monotone.
Although the location is outside the city center, it's very accessible by metro.
Some of the staff are really nice and the other are rude. |

This would be better classed as an excellent 3 star hotel rather than a poor 4 star one. The location is a bit of a let down - not because it is out of the way as the metro is only across the road but because there is little else around it and unfortunately the hotel prices tend to reflect the lack of competition. That being said we had an enjoyable and comfortable stay there and the staff were all very pleasent. I would recomend this hotel to those who are comfortable using the public transport system and those who are prepared to go off the neaten track a bit.

A very colourful building amidst a stark and grey location. Metro fantastic, pool great, decor disgusting but it makes you get out and see the city. Rooms fine, superior only had a shower room. breakfast was great but the trays are at the wrong end and really you need to do breakfast backwards! Dont order the hamburger from the bar, IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE PICTURE! Staff dont smile, ever. Not really a European 4 star and now having been to Prague would now look at staying elsewhere. Nothing really wrong with this hotel other than its rememerable for the wrong reasons. Worth a try.

We arrived Prague early in the morning and to the hotel around 7:30a.m. As we planned to put our luggages in the hotel first and then visited the central area of Prauge. It was very nice that the hotel arranged a room for us without asking for extra charge. Also, the breakfast is good. But one of the staff at tourist information counter is lack of politeness.

The hotel ads say there's a shuttle from the airport/train station. The staff tries to (over)charge you for everything, the free shuttle that's supposed to pick you up and drop you off at 15 minute intervals to the train station to get to the city entre stranded us two nights in a row. After the first night we complained to the staff and were reassured that it was a mistake, but the next night, sure enough, no van. So we were stuck by some random bus stop in the middle of nowhere, without speaking the language, at night, with no stores in the area to purchase a phone card from (the one i had on me wasn't working at the station for whatever reason). We were NOT happy. As a woman, I totally wouldn't step foot in the pool or "gym", and the male staff gawks at you if you even go onto the pool/gym floor (i.e. the basement). It looks like a men's club. The bar was amazingly over-priced, the room was dirty and workmen were working on the building next door about 15 feet from our hotel window. My husband's phone charger literally exploded when he tried to use it - he used the same converter we'd used in 3 prior countries w/no problems. For the same price we could have stayed right in the city centre. The breakfast was decent and the internet worked, even if it cost a fortune. I felt like I needed a shower when we checked out.

Room was clean but had a peculiar smell as though the plumbing wasn't quite right. Food in the hotel was good and reasonably priced but some of the staff were rather abrupt and impatient. All in all it was worth the money and i would use it again.

One problem was proximity to transport into town. Difficult to get in for meal in evening. Also a lack of veggie options foodwise.

Nowhere near a 4 star hotel. Competes for the worst service i've had. They tried to charge me double what I was quoted at lastminute and I had to go print out my confirmation on their computers, after paying to use the internet, to show them they were wrong. They still tacked on multiple extra charges beyond what I was quoted by lastminute.com that were completely unreasonable, which I argued, but you cant get too far because they pretend or can't speak english well. If you pay to get into the pool be ready to pay extra for the hot tub, extra for the sauna etc.

A hotel that offers a great deal for the price they charge you. Most of the staff speak decent to good englisch and will be able to help you with most of your questions. The only weird thing was that when we didnt have warm water in the shower and asked for a mechanic (the only one we met who didnt speak englisch), he felt the water and said it was normal. Assuming that the cold water was as 'hot' as it would get, we took our shower anyway and suddenly found out that after 3 or 4 minutes the water gets steaming hot :) Dont be fooled by its outward appearance. From a distance it may seem a little dated and uncared for, but from the inside its well worth the price.

I stayed at the Hotel Duo from late July to early August 2008 and found the Hotel to be an ideal location and base for visiting and sightseeing Prague. The Hotel service was excellent, having all the facilities necessary for a comfortable short visit. Also, having a Metro line station just accross the road from the hotel, made access to the city centre very easy. Only 10 minutes journey time. The hotel staff were always very helpfull, (English Speaking) giving directions and travelling advice along with booking of Theatre and Metro tickets.

The rooms are good for the price. However, the Duo SportsCentre (gym, sauna, bowling alley, pool table, etc.) is an extra and has to be paid for separately. A frequent public bus service takes you in 10 minutes to the nearest underground station, from where the centre of Prague is only 10-15 minutes away.

3 of us 30 somethings enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Duo. The Duo is kept very clean. The rooms are basic but adequate. There is a wide variety of nicely cooked food at the buffet breakfast. The facilities at the Duo are very good such as a gym, swimming pool, massage and ten pin bowling. It is adviseable to book the use of facilities a day in advance because of the demand to use them. The Duo is only a 5 min walk from an ultra modern and stylish metro train station. You need to buy a ticket before entering the platform. The Duo and the tobacconist at the station sell 1 day and 3 day tickets (a 3 day ticket costs 18 for unlimited use of public transport throughout Prague). Trains arrive every 6 mins and within a 10 min journey you can be in the centre of Prague's retsaurants and bars (the Museum stop) or if you travel in the opposite direction you can arrive at a bus station where you can catch a courtesy bus for a short journey to at a new shopping arcade which has over 100 stores.
