The Doubletree by Hilton Montreal was not what I expected from a Hilton establishment. The Lobby and restaurant were acceptable but the room I occupied needs updating, especially the bathroom. The bathtub had stains, it was clean but had set-in stains. This might have biased me on the rest of the room. I should have left but since I was only there for 2 nights I decided to stick it out. Would not recommend it until updated.

The location was great, just a few steps from the subway and a couple blocks from a nice dinning area with restaurants and cafes, the staff was very friendly and the room very clean. When I booked that hotel I though that it was a little overpriced, but once I got there I thought that it was worth every penny. If I ever go back to Montreal I will stay there for sure.

Decent hotel located close to McGill and close to the downtown area of Montreal. Check-in was a pleasure, and the hotel was clean and there were no surprises. A good and a nice place to stay.

This past week, we went for the "Just for Laughs" festival and stayed at the Doubletree Hotel. Having to pay * per night, we thought we were in for a treat! We have had many vacations at other hotels and found this one lacking. Firstly, when we checked in, they offered the chocolate chip cookies to the frequent customers, stewardesses, but made no offer to us. The hospitality is definitely chilly at best! The next morning, we were awoken at 5:45 am by the adjoining room's alarm clock and it took at least 15 mins. for them to resolve this. Their security officer loudly used his walkie-talkie to verify that next door was indeed unoccupied, right outside our door! I guess we weren't supposed to continue to sleep! We went to the great exercise room but there was no spray to clean the handles of the equipment. When leaving for the evening, I remarked to my husband that this cap from the mini shampoos we saw in the hall would be in the hallway the next day, and sure enough, it was there! It was there every day in the three days we stayed there--vaccuum much?. We had to call for housekeeping at 2 as it wasn't done. Also, the picture of the pool looks amazing in the advertising literature and websites, but it has seen its day. The same night, we were awoken again (at 12 am) by the adjoining room's alarm clock. Apparently, they unplugged it, but forgot to turn the alarm off!!!! This time, it took over 20 minutes for them to respond after a few phone calls down to the front desk. It was infuriating, sitting and waiting while the alarm buzzed! We would not recommend this hotel.

WE were very disapointed with the hotel. There was no hot water during our entire stay. The indoor pool was nasty, as guests were jumping in without showering, giving that was no hot water. The staff didnt seem care either. There was at least five other people complaining at the front desk about the water, they kept lying saying that the problem would be fix whithin the next hour.It never happened.I would not recomend the hotel to anybody.

It was very disappointing that we could not reach room service our first night there...we just wanted to kick back after walking around for a while and rent a movie, have a snack...but we were unable to rent any one of the many, many movies listed and room service did not answer the phone, and front desk seemed to pass the blame off on the cable company. As the guest, we just didn't seem to matter to this hotel...so, even though the room was nice and clean, we didn't see the pool or gym, and the restaurant was good but pricey, we would probably not go back there.

This is a good, solid business class hotel with pool and health club, very well situated in the Plateau District of Montreal. You can walk to Rue St. Denis, Parc LaFontaine and many wonderful restaurants. Good bus and subway transportation are closeby.

The Doubletree Hilton at Montreal downtown was worse than a motel. The bed was not at all comfortable. The bathtub seemed to be broken. This does not deserve to be a 2/12-3 star hotel. The only good thing was that it was just 15 minutes walk from downtown.

This hotel might have been an excellent hotel once, but is rather run down and poorly managed now. The hair dryer in our room did not work and at 6 am, the staff started fixing the ice machine located next to our room. It made a lot of noise and despite mentioning it to the staff, they returned at 9 am to fix the machine again. The parking was not obvious and we ended up in a lot next door that was a long walk to the hotel.
