Would only use this motel again if I needed the cooking facilities. It's worth it to pay only slightly more and stay right on the strip in a more updated motel. Or save more money, stay off the strip and get the comfort and quality of a Hampton Inn. The lobby and courtyard areas were nicely maintained but the carpets and furniture in the hallways and the room we had need to be thoroughly cleaned. There is loose wall and floor trim and sketchy patch jobs done on the walls in various places. We booked it for it's location close to the strip (very handy), for the price and for the seperate master bedroom/living areas. However, since you have to go thru the master bedroom to get to the bathroom area there really is very little privacy. Also the people on the fold out couch freeze in order to keep the master bedroom cool enough to sleep in. We were provided with sheets and one tired, holey blanket for the fold out. We finally moved the comforter from the main bedroom to the fold out couch (we requested one, for the fold out, three times and were finally told that there were no more) Money saved by staying here, versus a nicer place on the strip, was not substantial enough to do it again.

The hotel was wonderful. The suite was clean and open. Friendly staff. However they have a new alliance with a travel company who can be extremely pushy and abrasive. Other than that a nice experience.

This was probably my 20th trip to Las Vegas and I usually stay on the strip in one of the mega casinos/resorts. Well, with the economy the way it is and being self employed, I decided to stay off the strip and chose the Desert Rose based on reviews, location and the full service kitchen. This hotel is a GEM. The rooms are 1-bedroom apartments with granite kitchens and baths. The kitchens are very well stocked for all your cooking needs. The rooms are clean as are the common areas. The room furnishings, expecially the living room, could use an update soon though. The location is great as it is walkable to the stip, MGM and the monorail, but a car is definitely a plus if you plan on grocery shopping. Some reviews noted safety concerns but I never felt unsafe here once. The breakfast was a bonus with ample supplies of basic items including a variety of coffee types. I did not attend the happy hours due to scheduling but undertsand they were popular and nice. After a long day, it was really nice to be able to just drive up, park and get to my apartment within 2 minutes and not have to deal with a mile long walk through a casino, banks of overcrowded elevators and hazy smoke. The only complaint I had was with the front desk staff who were abrupt especially when attempting to check in before 4pm. Otherwise, the rest of the staff was very courteous. Also, I wish the hotel recylced (plastic, aluminium, etc) given they have the full kitchens. This hotel is a great find, just off the strip and a deal if you plan on being in Las Vegas for more than just a few days

my wife and I stayed here in may of 09 for a week.the suite was wonderful.full kitchen, large front room, very comfortable bed. the place was completely clean. the staff was very accommidating to all of our needs. they could use a little more help at the front desk during check in. the free breakfast is a little hectic but i suggest getting there before 7:30 and remember,it is free so quit complaining. the buildings are in a quiet area 1 block from hooters and 3 blocks from the tropicana casinos. i would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to las vegas. for transportation, dont take the monorail.9 per ride. take the city bus called the deuce. its only 5 all day. will take you anywhere on the strip you need to go. even to freemont street.

This is more like a condo or an apartment with key access to building and a whole kitchen including dishwasher. There is a free breakfast and snacks and drinks at night.

The room was great for the ability to serve on self. The continental breakfast was more than expected and toughly enjoyed on both mornings of my stay. The staff worked hard to keep everything looking great and clean and was friendly and concerned about first impressions. I had a great stay and was appreciative of the stay and would love to stay there again on future visits.

This is a nice clean hotel very close to the strip. The suites are a compact but have all the amenities necessary: fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, blender etc) you could really stay there and feel at home. The gym is small but has everything you need to keep active. There's a small shop at the reception if you need emergencies otherwise there are super markets close by. The only gripe I have is that they do not offer their Wi-Fi connection for free.

This hotel is in the process of being converted from what looks like to be apartments. It is very clean and nicely done. It has a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove and dishwasher and also granite counter tops. Small dining table area. TV's are analog but are in both the living room area and bedroom.

I was very surprised at the quality of the room! It was a well appointed one bedroom mini-suite with full kitchen and nice living room area. Less than a block from the strip and easy to get to from the airport or freeway. I loved it!

This is a great place for family stay; room was equipped with a full kitchen, extra towels, blankets and pillows; the room was set up to allow sufficient accommodations to a single family household. It was located off of the strip, which allowed for a quiet and private stay. Overall an excellent experience.

The hotel was great. It was well located and great facilities. The internet was $10 per day and that is horrible considering you can get a month for that price. The place was nice and had everything you could want on a trip.

This hotel was very classy, with great staff and a convenient location. The hotel was renovating which resulted in no hot breakfast but they provided breakfasts in grab and go bags. The fitness room was good, and very busy. Free wireless internet would have been a huge plus if offered.
