The hotel was reasonable for the price we paid, £76 per night for a superior room, but the breakfast was expensive for very average quality. We had dinner on the first night, but it was not particularly good, and again quite expensive. The room and bathroom were alright, but the bed was very uncomfortable, and sloped downwards to the left. It was old and should be replaced. The hotel has a free car park, and is very close to a tram stop for the city centre. The staff were pleasant.

The staff here are excellent, very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a great location, just over the road from the tram link to the city centre. Rooms are spacious and clean. Overall great value for money!

Location spot on for Lowry gallery, Man Utd & War Museum. Staff extremely helpful & pleasant. Food in restaurant at night good. Room definitely needed a good light at a mirrror for make up and lenses. We would both stay there again

We have stayed in Copthorne Hotels in other Citys but we did not find this one up to their usual standard. We had booked a Superior Double with Quayside view. The bedroom itself was not bad but the furniture is of poor quality. The bathroom was a disgrace. The multi-coloured tiles were bad enough but all the black mould round the bath, under the taps and soap holder was disgusting so we asked to be moved. We were moved to a Conisseur Room which was identifical in every way to the Superior including the black mould round the bath tiles! We accepted that all the rooms must be of this standard - poor cleaning and maintenance schedule. We then asked Reception to book us into a Restaurant which had been recommended and order a taxi. We went down to reception 15 mins before our table had been booked to find no taxi waiting. When queried, we were informed it would be a few minutes. We eventually got a taxi (not the one we had requested) arrived at the Restaurant late to find there was no reservation made for us - the Restaurant had in fact been fully booked for two days! Fortunately, they were able to accommodate us but the whole scenario was embarrassing to say the least. Not what you expect from this standard of Hotel.

The rooms have a hi tech entertainment system - instead of radio channels (even though these are mentioned in the room information) there is "internet radio" - which never works - the result is you can't get Radio 4, Classic FM or any music at all - you can also get online using the TV - its very slow, clunky and costs you £12 even if you use it for 5 minutes

This is a good-quality hotel set in the ever-expanding Salford Quays area of Manchester. Quiet location, only 15 mins on the Metro to the centre of town. Only one complaint and that is to do with their booking system. We'd booked a double room via a third-party internet site. Despite having written confirmation of this booking, on arrival, we were initially given a twin room. When we challenged this, we were told that although our original booking of a double had been confirmed in writing to us, it didn't necessarily mean that the room we wanted was available (?!). We pointed out that this was NOT our problem - it was the hotel and the third-party's. Were then told that there weren't any doubles left and again, we pointed out that we would not have booked this hotel if we had not been guaranteed a double room (we had travelled all the way from London for our anniversary weekend). A double room soon became available on the screen. Don't let this hiccup put you off - I'm sure it's just a case of the hotel ironing out a few technical hitches! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the room spacious and clean. Worth getting a room with a view over the Quay.

really nice hotel although not sure it's worth the normal rate of £210. our room was nice and clean etc although bathroom decor was a bit dated. we'd obviously been given one of the worst rooms, though, as our view was of the staff car park containing the extractor fans for the kitchen and the kitchen bins. breakfast wasn't included and seemed a bit expensive so we didn't eat there, but the hotel is a 3 minute walk to the tram stop and then it's 10 mins into town or you could just walk to the quays where there's plenty to choose from.

The hotel was located very near the tram stop which was handy. I didn't pay the full room rate, if I did I wouldn't have thought it was very good value for money. For the rate I paid, the room was ok but I didn't think it was of a 4 star standard. Having said that, the room was clean and functional and the bed was comfy. We opted not to have breakfast at the hotel because it was rather expensive.

Pleasant hotel in a good spot for the Lowry Theatre and Centre/Old Trafford. Room very good though small for a "Superior" room(they style it as "Connoisseur".) Breakfast ridiculously expensive at £15.95 per person, so we went to the Cafe Rouge on Deansgate and had FEB for £6.95 per head.

On initial appearance we were very happy and the staff at reception were polite. We were given a room that was occupied by somebody else, thankfully the occupants were not there as we walked into their room. All their personal belongings were there in our view which is not acceptable and I consider a serious breach of security. We were quickly given another room and the staff appeared confused over the misunderstanding. Our final room I would describe as adverage. The furniture was very tired and the bathroom wasn't much better. The shower was burning hot and you were unable to regulate the temp and had to resort to using the bath, which was not pleasant as mold had set in on the sealant and grout, plus the shower curtain was old and stained. We didn't eat at the hotel, but did have a drink at the bar which was fine, with nice surroundings. The tram into town was just a minutes walk away which made it an ideal location and the hotel offer free parking. This hotel would not be my first choice in the future and would look towards the many others in the area.

The hotel was clean and welcoming. The bar area was very pleasant - I think it has recently been re-done. The room was a good size with a good view over the quay. The bathroom looked rather old fashioned and could with a modernisation, but was clean and functional. Bed slightly uncomfortable. Overall I thought this hotel was excellent value for money (I paid £66 for a superior double) and I would stay here again at this price.

We only stayed here because it was handy for LCC/Old Trafford and everywhere else was full and were not massively impressed. Unfortunately this kind of hotel increasingly seems poor value compared to Ibis/Premier Travel Inn kind of places. We didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. The public transport links to central Manchester via tram are excellent (stop behind the building opposite, although this information was not given in travel directions to the hotel!) and there appeared to be plenty of parking. The surroundings are stereotypical out of town business park, although there is a petrol station nearby for emergency supplies and a TGI Friday's up the road. Room was just about adequate in size and decoratively starting to look a bit dated. Staff were efficient and reasonably friendly. I guess you could do worse but if I was paying full price (with my own money) I'd be thoroughly underwelmed.

The location was great for the LCC and the Metro. The hotel was good although expensive considering the facilities. Where it was let down was on the handling of maintainance issues & bar service. While the bar service was good and very friendly, the two staff couldn't cope wth the volume of people who returned after the concert. Bearing in mind thier location this must be a regular issue. In my opinion they could have organised oher staff to table serve as well as having the bar staff in place, this would have prevented a 30 minute wait for drinks. The maintainance issue was having reported a "strobing" bath light at 3pm, it hadn't been changed when we returned at 11.30pm
