The Hotel was lovely, our room a top floor Jr Suite with 2 balconeys with canal view. Service was great, staff very helpful in planning outings and show bookings. Breakfast was served at the room and was very nice. In general our stay exceeded our expectations, and we shall certainly be returning. I totally recommend this Hotel. Its location is beside San Marco and in the late afternoon you can hear the gondoliers singing and the Bells ringing from the Clock Tower..... wonderful!

Very nice hotel, near st. marcos (200 meters), in the middle of everything, restaurants, bars, gondola service, shopping, and also with a private water taxi to Marco Polo airport. Rooms are well decorated, spacious, silent. Breakfast is served in room.

The price does not reflect the quality of the room. €280 per night for a 4 star Hotel, is not a bargain. I do not mind to pay such an amount, if the room was a really junior suite, as advertised. Furthermore for a canal view, I was asked more €80 per night (I didn't accept). A positive aspect of our stay was a champagne bottle and a fruit cake offered, once I mentioned that we were in Venice to celebrate our 25th years of marriage.

As the airconditionning was out of order, the manager upgraded us in another hotel of their group, nextdoor as well located as the "Ponte dei Sospiri", mantaining the negotiated rate. Finally we stayed in the penthouse of the "Dona Palace" with terrace and Jacuzzi, and they even bought champagne to apologize about the air conditionning break down.

The staff behind the counter could use some tips on how to welcome guests, but the rest of the staff was very good. We had no idea of the amount of building going on and it was very noisy from that. Also being on the first floor you could hear everyone and their echo that walked or stood on the bridge outside the window. Also it should be noted that the computers have been taken out of the rooms. These were the only bad points though. After walking all day and night the tub was a treat to relax in and the city is so fantastic that you have to be happy there. Also a lot of very good small hidden places to eat near the hotel. The hotel was nice try HARD not to stay on the first floor unless you enjoy talking to everyone out the window!!
