the only comment i have is that we were surprised to know that shops do not open early and that they close noon time, the hotel was excellent, the staff were helping a lot, the hotel location was excellent within walking distance to everything. thank you we will think of you again in the future.

The hotel name and the map suggest a close proximity to Atocha rail station. It was a good 20-25 minute walk with luggage, crossing busy roads and intersections. A lukewarm reception and no information about for example the electricity supply, which works on your room key (a card): this is quite common in Spain, but if this is your first encounter with the system (as it was mine) then some explanation is needed. Noisy adjacent busy road (they could surely insulate rooms better against this) so sleep was difficult. I was unable to take breakfast as they only start serving at 8am on Saturdays: not much help if you are catching an earlyish train.

I arrived on New Year's Eve and the employees did not seem happy to have me there. They demanded I pay in advance and the next morning would not call a taxi for me and told me to flag one down on the street. As I attempted to leave I found the front door were locked and was told to leave by the side door to the alley, dragging my 22kilo bags up stairs through the door. The desk clerk just shrugged her shoulders as if to say it was not her problem. I will return to Madrid but never again to this hotel.

This hotel is part of a fairly large chain, so one might expect it to be rather impersonal. On the contrary the staff were friendly and helpful as well as efficient. Considering its (reasonably) central location it was also remarkably quiet. A very satisfactory experience.

I understand that the breakfast included in the the price. Unfortunately I did not print out confirmation detail to defend with hotel staff. that make the double room price increase from 53 to 85 euro!! And the location is far from Atocha station, not as indicated in the web.

A wonderful non-touristy walk to the museums; some staff members left much to be desired, there was no iron available on request (we expected more from a 3 star), and the wireless internet was only available in the lobby. Thin walls -- any sound in the hallway, another room or outside was also the sound in your room. Parking was a huge bonus! Otherwise a spectacular beginning and end to our stay in Madrid.

Perfect place for a break. 5 minutes from the nearest underground station and 2 stops from Sol- the centre of the city.

The room and the breakfast where very good, the attitude of the personnel at the reception to solve problems, especially in the billing phase, quite poor.

The official price in the hotel itself was € 75 for a doble room instead of € 80 we paid with Venere.com. Actually I do not understand the small difference.

Only stayed for 1 night with friends on the way to Seville to see the UEFA Cup Final with Celtic. Hotel was 1st class and very handy for the train station, which was what we wanted as we were catching an early train to Seville. We stayed the next night in a 4 star hotel in Cordoba and although only 3 star the Abba Aramo was a better hotel. All 3 of us would be happy to stay at this hotel if we ever returned to Madrid. Thank You

Although the property was fairly up market for the star rating several things badly let it down. Breakfast was not included and as a separate purchase was very expensive. (ie the cost of of 4 meals in a local cafe was the same as one one hotel breakfast) It was also incredibly noisy. There was a school party staying and the walls were very thin. Consequently one night no sleep until the early hours. Staff were not helpful and did NOT speak English. We had a Spanish speaker with us but it would have been difficult otherwise. The centre of Madrid was a good 20 minute walk UPHILL. Got a bit tiresome

We found Abba Aramo a good place to stay. A little further from the centre of Madrid than we would have liked but, a 10 munite walk to the nearst tube. Travel time in & out - to Sol - was always about 1/2 an hour. If you cannot get a place more central Madrid I would recommend this hotel. It is well kept, reasonable & we found the staff very helpful.
